A recall has been issued for over a million Jeep vehicles following a NHTSA probe, reports Reuters.

NHTSA first opened its investigation in September 2024, after receiving reports of fires in parked vehicles. Many reports detailed the fires as originating near the power steering pump.

Following the preliminary ‌evaluation into around 781,500 Jeep Wrangler SUVs and Gladiator trucks, Chrysler then decided to cover all 2021-2025 Jeep Wranglers and ⁠Gladiators manufactured between June 24, 2020, and December 2, 2024, in an updated recall released in June.

Though NHTSA said the recall addressed the probe, it will be monitoring field performance closely.
