Nov. 6, 2020—The Virtual AAPEX Experience has announced the recipients of the new AAPEX Service and Repair Awards during a live-streamed ceremony, according to a press release.
The awards recognize and elevate the essential services that shop owners, service advisors, and technicians provide to keep the drivers safe and on the road.
Longtime Ratchet+Wrench contributor Brian Sump, who was on the cover of the magazine's first issue and recently the cover of the 100th issue, won the AAPEX Shop Owner of the Year award. The president of Avalon Motorsports and Urban Auto Care in Denver has been in business 13 years, and during this time, has used his business acumen and a detailed, process-based management philosophy to grow into a multi-location shop operator.
Jason Sexton of Dynamic Automotive in Frederick, Md., who's owned by current Ratchet+Wrench board member Dwayne Myers, won the AAPEX Service Advisor of the Year award. According to the release, Sexton is known for his love for knowledge and is described as a teacher, a true advisor who builds an unbelievable relationship with customers.
Finally, Norm Schultz of Interstate Auto Care in Madison Heights, Mich., won the AAPEX Technician of the Year. According to the release, Schultz has 20 years of experience, is an ASE certified master technician, and is described as the epitome of professionalism and dedication.
