Ratchet+Wrench Launches New Blog

Jan. 9, 2018
The "Reporter's Blog" will offer additional insights, anecdotes and business strategies on a weekly basis

There’s an old journalism saying that to put together a well rounded, objective story, a reporter only uses roughly 10 percent of his or her reporting. The idea is that you research, interview and dive so fully into a topic that you can see it and understand it from all angles; then you can piece together the information most applicable to the reader for just that particular story.

The 10 percent rule is a cliche—but like most cliches, it started because it’s, more or less, true.

So, what happens to the other 90 percent? Great question. The answer, at least for Ratchet+Wrench moving forward, is that it will go into our Reporter’s Blog.

Each month, our team speaks to the top business operators, coaches and consultants in the industry, and we wind up with troves of leftover information that would either be shelved for a later date or simply go unused. Those insights and anecdotes will now appear online every Wednesday in this blog.

And feel free to reach out with any ideas you may have for future pieces. We’d love to hear from you.
