Aug. 30, 2021—Tekmetric is adding between 80 and 100 shops monthly to its shop management platform.
In an interview with the Charlotte Business Journal, Tekmetric director of business development PJ Leslie disclosed the figure, saying the large majority of those shops are independently owned mom-and-pop shops. However, Tekmetric does have partnerships with three national franchises including Tuffy Tire and Auto.
"That independent space, where you take your car to get a repair at a non-franchise dealership has been left behind," he said. "It was difficult for us to find answers through tech that customers were demanding, so (founders Sunil Patel and Prasanth Chilukuri) were crazy enough to start their own company to provide those answers,” Leslie told the outlet.
