ASA-Midwest KC Chapter Donates Car to Family in Need

Dec. 8, 2014

Dec. 8, 2014—The Kansas City chapter of the Automotive Service Association - Midwest (ASA-Midwest) has chosen a family in need to be surprised with the gift of a fully refurbished 2005 PT Cruiser.

The giveaway, scheduled for Dec. 9 at Louie's Wine Dive in Kansas City, Mo., will serve as the conclusion to a month-long drive to raise funds to cover the purchase and repair of the vehicle.

Applications for car recipients were gathered, and one family was chosen by the board.

"The ASA Kansas City chapter is excited to help this single mother as she has struggled finding transportation to Children's Mercy Hospital multiple times a week for her son's leukemia treatments. We are excited to make a difference in this family's life," Joe Sevart, ASA-Kansas City chapter president, said in a release.

A friend of the family submitted the application without the family's knowledge, so the presentation will be a surprise.
