Ford, Rivian Announce EV Recalls

The recalls impact 1,175 Mustang Mach-E models and 207 R1T and R1S EV truck models.

Sept. 8, 2022—Ford and Rivian have both announced recalls that impact some electric vehicle models.

According to Auto Guide, the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration has detailed the recent recalls. An improperly manufactured rear half-shaft that impacts 1,175 Mustang Mach-E models. 

The Rivian recall is smaller. It impacts 207 R1T and R1S EV truck models built between Jan. 28 and Aug. 8. Seatbelts may be incorrectly attached to the B-pillar in the trucks. 

Fixes for these recalls are free and available at respective dealerships. Check for more recall information on the NHTSA website.
