June 10, 2022—The California Automotive Wholesalers' Association, an automotive aftermarket trade association, has announced its 2022 scholarship recipients.
According to a press release, CAWA has provided over $13,000 in scholarships to thirteen individuals this year.
“Once again, CAWA is proud to assist these young people in pursuing their education and careers in the auto care industry”, said Rodney Pierini, President and CEO in the press release.
The 2022 CAWA scholarship recipients include:
- Marcos Alvarez-Guzman of Rio Hondo College received the Mort Schwartz Award (given to the highest ranked applicant)
- Ethan Times of Arizona State University
- Joel Harvey of WyoTech
- Luke Waters of WyoTech
- Emmanuel Figueroa of Universal Technical Institute
- Edenilson Cuatete-Hernandez of Universal Technical Institute
- Melina Camarena of Citrus College
- Joaquin Cruz Roldan of Las Positas College
- Yasmin Garcia of Fresno City College
- Ben Ebright of Solano Community College
- Leonardo Zuniga of Los Angeles Pierce College
- Diego Martinez of San Jacinto College
- Kacrana Chamroeun of San Diego Miramar College
Scholarship funding comes from CAWA's annual dinner gala, which is underwritten by Motorcar Parts of America. This year, that gala will be held at the Venetian in Las Vegas on October 30, 2022.
Scholarship funding also comes in part from a grant provided by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation.
