Hunter Engineering’s ADAS Calibration System Approved for Use in Nissan, Infiniti Dealerships
Hunter Engineering’s Ultimate ADAS system has been approved for use at Nissan and Infiniti dealerships, according to a recent news release.
The two brands join Honda and Acura, who approved the use of Ultimate ADAS at their respective dealerships earlier last year.
The Ultimate ADAS tool utilizes Hunter’s standard-setting alignment technology alongside a guided target placement system to provide coverage for the entire vehicle. With gimbal-mounted lasers substituting the use of strings, plumb bobs, and tape measures, the company claims it can reduce setup time by 70% for certain jobs.
The gimbals and onscreen guidance will account for factors including non-level floors and placement errors, and uses laser measurements to provide improved accuracy. Manual adjustments such as height, roll, pitch, and yaw are automated through Ultimate ADAS.
“Calibrations aren’t necessarily difficult, but getting set up can be very time-consuming,” explained Hunter’s ADAS product specialist, Ryan Gerber. “With this new system, techs won’t need to learn geometry on the fly with strings and plumb bobs, since the lasers will locate the precise spots almost instantly.”
