Maine NAPA Auto Care Centers Hold ‘Autos for Autism’ Fundraiser

NAPA Auto Care centers in Maine are holding a fundraiser to benefit families living with autism, reports FOX 22 Bangor.

A group consisting of independently owned NAPA Auto Care and Truck Care centers located between Ellsworth and Warren will be collecting donations through the end of April for the Autos for Autism fundraiser.

Funds raised go to helping families living with autism access resources they need. It also helps fund Family Fun days, where families are provided a safe, relaxing environment to meet others living in similar situations.

“They can make new friends, share their experiences, and make those connections to help build their support circles when the tough days do come around,” described Meg Richards, partial owner of BJ’s Automotive Diagnostic Center in Belfast, Maine.

The fundraiser is held annually, with last year seeing more than $10,000 raised for the cause. Autos for Autism hopes to exceed that amount with this year’s initiative.
