Christian Brothers Automotive Constructing Technology and Training Center in Katy, Texas
Christian Brothers Automotive will be constructing a technology and training center for its team members in Katy, Texas, reports Covering Katy News.
The 13,500-square-foot facility is set to be located in the Katy Main Street area between Kohl’s and the interstate, with construction starting in the first quarter of 2026 and the facility opening in the first quarter of 2027.
Though the company currently conducts training at its Katy headquarters or through regional training events, this new center aims to bring all its training for automotive technicians and service advisors to one place. It began searching for real estate property in Katy in 2021, followed by approvals needed from surrounding businesses. Early estimates show an investment of around $8.5 million for the project.
With the help of vendors and suppliers, the facility will train individuals to handle the future of auto repair, equipped with vehicle lifts, diagnostic equipment and specialized tools, and training in automated driving systems and electric vehicle repairs.
Additionally, Christian Brothers Automotive will relocate its headquarters from its current 36,000-square-foot building to a 100,000-square-foot support center, located on the same property. This move will take place around five years after the training center opens, and enable the company’s corporate staff to grow from 175 to 500.
“Phase one is to build a training and technology center where we can train our automotive technicians,” said Michael Suttle, Christian Brothers Automotive chief development officer. “We will bring our technicians and service advisors in from all over the country and provide them with the most current training practices and education.”
