Ford Recalls 1.7M Vehicles Over Infotainment System Issues
Ford has announced two recalls impacting 1.7 million vehicles due to issues with the infotainment system screen, according to Consumer Reports.
The first of the two recalls details a software defect causing the infotainment system to display flipped or inverted images, which can impact backup camera display issues. Included in this recall are the 2020-2022 Ford Escape, 2020-2024 Ford Explorer, 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair.
The second recall relates to an overheating risk with a hardware module. It can cause the center screen to entirely fail to display any image. The 2021-2026 Ford Bronco and 2021-2024 Ford Edge are impacted by this recall.
Ford has said that no fix is yet available, but it’s developing free software updates to resolve the issues. It will notify vehicle owners of the recall, and once more when a fix is available.
