Ford has issued a recall impacting over 223,500 F-150 trucks due to a potentially loose fuel tank, according to Autoblog.

A total of 223,472 vehicles are included in the recall, manufactured between January 2023 to August 2026. Ford said these trucks could have improperly slotted front fuel tank straps, with the company citing incidents of its assembly-line cameras not monitoring the fuel tank straps.

The problem could cause the fuel tank to come loose or leak, and lead to the engine to stalling or even falling out entirely.

Even unsold trucks and trucks with just a few miles on the road are at risk of the issue. The company has recorded 16 warranty claims worldwide and no accidents or injuries.

To remedy the issue, Ford and Lincoln dealers will check the front straps and swap them out as needed. Owners will begin receiving letters between Sept. 21 and 28, and will be able to search the VIN online starting Sept. 14.
