Dec.17, 2014—TireRack.com has partnered with the White House and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on its TireWise campaign and corresponding Tire Safety Month (Dec. 9 through Jan. 9) in support of the current administration’s efforts to raise consumer awareness about tire safety, cut carbon pollution and save money at the pump.
TireRack.com is a leading independent tire tester and consumer-direct source for tires, wheels and performance accessories.
Together with a select lineup of tire manufacturers, fuel distributors and tire retailers, TireRack.com commits to the newly announced initiative by displaying the campaign information, infographic and Be TireWise Guide on its website.
Drivers who visit TireRack.com and its social media channels such as www.facebook.com/tirerack and www.twitter.com/tire_rack can also continue to access free consumer tire safety, research and maintenance information as well as unbiased, reliable and real-world test results to make an informed purchase decision.
Also according to the DOT report, proper tire maintenance combined with the use of low rolling resistance tires could save a driver up to $80 per year, and avoid up to 560 pounds of annual carbon dioxide pollution, equivalent to nearly 600 miles of emission-free driving.
In support of the DOT’s goal to “finalize a rule establishing a tire fuel efficiency consumer information program by 2017 so consumers can identify the most energy efficient tires,” TireRack.com has highlighted specific test results pertaining to this category here.
