University of The Aftermarket Releases New Professional Designation

The University of the Aftermarket and Northwood University have announced a new designation within their Executive Development series aimed at top executives.

The University of the Aftermarket and Midland, Michigan’s Northwood University have announced a new designation within their Executive Development series, according to a press release.

The SPAAP designation–Specialty AAP–will be regarded as the University of the Aftermarket’s “highest-level distinction,” said Dr. Thomas Litzinger, University of the Aftermarket executive director and Northwood University professor. It will consist of “rigorous master’s-level coursework” for those in executive positions.

Through Northwood University, the University of the Aftermarket offers courses online for those in the industry to earn continuing education units (CEUs) towards designations such as AAP, ACP and MAAP. Litzinger has said the new SPAAP designation will be the most desired from top executives.

“This designation is important to our industry because it fosters an environment of continuous learning, which will contribute to our competitive advantage,” Litzinger stated. “Most elements of our organizational culture can be enhanced through education.”
