Defective Backup Cameras Prompt Chrysler to Recall Nearly 220K Vehicles

Nearly 220,000 Chrysler vehicles are recalled due to faulty backup cameras causing visibility issues when reversing.

Defective backup cameras have led to Chrysler issuing a recall of nearly 220,000 vehicles, according to Consumer Reports.

The recent recall covers 2019-2020 Dodge Journey SUVs and 2019-2021 Ram ProMaster vans. According to the automaker, defective backup cameras could cause a black, blue, or reversed image to appear when the vehicle is in Reverse.

Dealers will be instructed to replace the camera on affected vehicles. A repair for the issue has not been made available yet, so the automaker will be sending out a letter to notify vehicle owners, and another once a repair is ready.
