Oct. 13, 2022—Christian Brothers Automotive will host its annual National Service Day on Oct. 15.
According to the Lexington County Chronicle, the location in Lexington, South Carolina, plans on partnering with the local Lexington Baptist Church. Free oil changes, inspections and security repairs will be offered to the community.
Each Christian Brothers location has the opportunity to choose the way in which they participate in National Service Day, which became a company-wide event in 2010. Joshua Standridge is the Lexington location owner, and he wants to make single mothers and widows in his community aware that his shop is offering these services.
Additionally, a press release from Christian Brothers revealed that this is the 12th annual iteration of National Service Day, which began thanks to a franchisee in Austin, Texas. It started as an effort by the franchisee in 2005 to give back to others with free oil changes for single mothers and other individuals. National Service Day is now held every year on the second Saturday of October.
“National Service Day is an annual opportunity for Christian Brothers Automotive shops across the country to come together and give back to the communities we serve,” said Donnie Carr, President and CEO of Christian Brothers Automotive via the press release. “Coming off our 40 year anniversary celebration in August, the momentum to support our shop owners in their give-back efforts is stronger than ever. We are blessed to continue to be a part of each and every one of the neighborhoods we serve, and we are grateful to our loyal franchise owners and their teams for bringing our National Day of Service to life for more than 12 years.”
