June 7, 2016—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced Friday that it will host a webinar, June 15 from 1–2 p.m., to discuss the implications for mechanical shops of the U.S. Department of Labor’s recent rule on overtime.
The recent rule updated the regulations governing which employees are entitled to the Fair Labor Standards Act’s minimum wage and overtime pay protections.
Webinar presenters will include:
- Brian Farrington, shareholder and section head of Cowles & Thompson’s Employment Law Practice Group in Dallas
- Darrell Amberson, president of operations at LaMettry’s Collision in Minneapolis, Minn.
- Ed Cushman, president of C&H Foreign Auto Repair in Spokane, Wash.
Farrington will discuss the new regulation and field questions during the webinar. Amberson will discuss the effect of the new regulation on collision repair shops, while Cushman will discuss the regulation’s effect on mechanical repair shops.
