Toyota Issues Recall on EVs for ‘Loose’ Wheels

June 27, 2022

The automaker's first mass-produced EVs hit with a recall within 60 days of launch.

June 27, 2022—Toyota announced the recall of 2,700 of its first mass-produced EVs.

The announcement comes following news from the automaker that sudden braking or sharp turns could cause loose wheels posing a drivability risk for motorists, sites Reuters.

The recall affects 2,200 vehicles slated for European distribution, 260 headed to the United States, 10 for Canada, and 110 for Japan.

Drivers are urged to park their vehicles until Toyota finds a more "permanent" repair measure.
